Aston Martin India to sell 100 cars in 2012

It’s been hardly over a month, since the British brand launched itself in the Indian sub-continent. You will be amazed to know that Aston Martin has already sold 20 cars in India and expect to sell more before this year ends.
What has come as a surprise is that nobody expected Aston Marin to have such a huge market in India. Confident with their start in India, Aston Martin announced earlier today that they will be selling 100 cars in 2012.
In India, Performance Cars, which is a part of Infinity Cars, is the official importer of the Aston Martin supercars. Mr Lalit Choudhary, Director, Performance Cars, at an event in Ahmedabad, stated, “In first year of launch, we expect to sell 30 units and by the end of next year we aim to sell close to 100 cars in India. As people move up from the premium luxury range to super luxury car segment, the sales of cars priced above Rs 1.5 crore shall pick up, and Gujarat is increasingly becoming a good market for the luxury car segment.”
Along with cars like Rapide, Vantage, etc, Aston Martin has also made the Rs 20 crore One-77 to the Indian buyer. “The ultra-exclusive One-77, the limited edition car priced in excess of Rs 20 crore ex-showroom, is now on display in Mumbai. The car maker is just left with 6-7 more units of this model and it can be made available in India,” Mr Lalit added.
